Frequently asked questions.
Do you accept Medicare?
At Ascend Hormone Care, we provide care on a private, cash-pay basis. Because of federal Medicare rules, we are not able to see or treat patients who are enrolled in Medicare at this practice, even if you wish to pay out-of-pocket.
We know this may be disappointing, and we encourage Medicare beneficiaries to seek care with providers who are able to bill Medicare directly. If you would like assistance finding a provider who participates in Medicare, please feel free to reach out to us by email — we’ll be happy to help connect you with appropriate resources.
Do you offer in person visits?
To make care more accessible and convenient, all visits are offered through secure telehealth appointments. In-person visits are currently offered in Burlington, CO and locally in the Denver area. See the booking page for details on location.
What do we support? (What We Do)
Your hormonal health journey is unique, and we're here to walk alongside you. Whether you're navigating perimenopause or menopause, we’re here to help. We also address related concerns like fatigue, weight changes, sexual health, bone health, and offer personalized hormone therapy when appropriate.
What Should I Expect?
Your first visit is a 60-minute appointment designed to give you time and space to feel heard. Once you register, you’ll receive an intake form so we can get to know you before we meet.
During your visit, we’ll talk through your symptoms, work together on a diagnosis, and decide if any labs, testing, or prescriptions—including HRT—are right for you. If needed, medications can be sent to your local pharmacy. We prescribe FDA-approved hormone replacement therapy (HRT), which can be sent to your local pharmacy and is often covered by insurance or available at an affordable cost.
We value collaboration and work alongside your primary care provider or gynecologist to ensure you feel fully supported.
What is your Care & Membership Pricing?
Thoughtful, ongoing hormone care — designed to support real change.
Ascend Hormone Care operates on a transparent, membership-based model because hormone optimization works best with continuity, education, and regular follow-up — not rushed, one-time visits.
Initial Comprehensive Visit
60 minutes | $299
Your initial visit is an in-depth, unrushed appointment where we:
Review your full health and symptom history
Discuss concerns related to perimenopause, menopause, and hormone imbalance
Review prior labs (or order labs if needed)
Begin building a personalized care plan
This visit establishes the foundation for your ongoing care.
Hormone Care Membership
$149 per month | 12-month commitment (optional 6 months)
The membership supports ongoing, personalized hormone management throughout the year and includes:
Monthly 30-minute follow-up visits
Ongoing treatment adjustments and symptom monitoring
Lab interpretation and care coordination
Prescription management
Access between visits for hormone-related questions
While Ascend Hormone Care is cash-pay, many commonly prescribed medications — including estradiol, progesterone, and testosterone when clinically indicated — are often covered by insurance.
Why a 12-month commitment?
Hormone care is a process. Most women experience the greatest improvement over several months as their body adjusts, treatment is refined, and symptoms stabilize. This allows time for meaningful, lasting progress — not just short-term changes.
Why Does Ascend Use a Membership Model?
Hormone care is not transactional — it’s relational.
The membership model allows me to:
Provide unrushed, consistent visits
Spend time educating and answering questions
Thoughtfully adjust treatment based on how you respond
Keep my practice intentionally small and sustainable
This approach allows me to care for fewer patients more deeply, ensuring your care is thoughtful, individualized, and consistent over time.
When the practice is sustainable, patient care is better.
Exploration Meeting FAQs
What is an Exploration Meeting?
An Exploration Meeting is a complimentary 15-minute video conversation to determine whether Ascend Hormone Care is the right fit for your goals. It’s a chance to connect, ask questions, and understand how care is structured before scheduling a full visit.
Is the Exploration Meeting medical care?
No. The Exploration Meeting is not a medical visit and does not include diagnosis, treatment, lab review, or medical advice. Medical care begins during the comprehensive initial visit.
Who is the Exploration Meeting best for?
Exploration Meetings are ideal for women who:
Are navigating perimenopause or menopause
Are interested in bioidentical hormone therapy vs non-hormonal therapy and other options
Value education, ongoing follow-up, and individualized care
Want to understand the membership model before committing
What will we talk about during the Exploration Meeting?
We’ll briefly discuss:
What’s prompting you to seek care now
Your goals and main concerns
How Ascend approaches hormone care
Membership structure and pricing
What next steps would look like if we move forward
Will we review my labs or symptoms in detail?
Detailed symptom evaluation and lab review are reserved for the 60-minute initial visit. The Exploration Meeting is intentionally high-level to ensure alignment before beginning care.
How long is the Exploration Meeting?
Exploration Meetings are 15 minutes, allowing for focused conversation while respecting everyone’s time.
Is there any obligation after the Exploration Meeting?
No. The Exploration Meeting is simply an opportunity to explore whether working together feels like the right fit.
What if I don’t see an Exploration Meeting time that works for me?
If you don’t see availability that works with your schedule, feel free to reach out. Limited after-hours or weekend meetings may be available while Ascend Hormone Care is growing.
Can I skip the Exploration Meeting and book an initial visit?
Yes. If you feel ready to move forward and are comfortable with the membership model, you’re welcome to schedule an initial visit directly.
Why is Ascend cash-pay?
Cash-pay care allows for longer visits, consistent follow-up, and personalized care without the restrictions often imposed by insurance-based models. This ensures care decisions are based on your needs — not billing limitations. Ascend Hormone Care was built to provide expert, compassionate care for women navigating midlife — without rushing, dismissing concerns, or cutting corners. This model allows space for real listening, real education, and real change.
What States Do You Serve?
We currently see patients in Colorado. Coming to Wyoming soon!
Do You Accept Insurance?
We don’t bill insurance directly, but we make it easy for you to get reimbursed. After your visit, you’ll receive a detailed superbill if you desire—a type of medical receipt—that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. You’re also welcome to use an HSA to cover the cost of your visit.
